Nose

The nose is full of notes such as banana runts, caramel candies, fresh green apple, pear, and honey. There is also a touch of black pepper.

Palate

Last Feather Rye Whiskey has a medium viscosity with notes of banana runts, banana bread, fresh fruits, and a pleasant burn on the back palate that is highlighted by cinnamon, clove, and black pepper. There are also notes of sweet oak, vanilla, and caramel.

Finish

The rye has a medium finish that lingers with cinnamon and banana and has the same pleasant burn that was present on the palate. The fresh fruits remain in the picture as well.

In closing

Journeyman Distillery Last Feather Rye is a whiskey with a fair amount of complexity as the flavors evolve as they move down your palate. This is a bottle that I would be happy to have on my bar as I was impressed with this pour. This is an enjoyable rye that I believe bourbon drinkers will enjoy as well because it maintains a lot of bourbon characteristics.
