NULU Whiskey Consensus Exclusive Batch WC1

A little background

NULU Whiskey Consensus Exclusive Batch WC1 is small batch blend of just two barrels of MGP Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This bourbon is five years old and made from 75% Corn, 21% Rye, and 4% Malted barley. Why a two barrel blend and not a single barrel? Simply put, after trying each barrel individually and comparing it against a blend of our two favorite barrels, the group unanimously voted that the blend was exceptionally better. Both individual barrels had great qualities on their own, however, these barrels combined takes the whiskey to a whole new level. NULU Whiskey Consensus Exclusive Batch WC1 is non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength.

Nose

Orange salt water taffy, graham crackers, lime citrus, simple syrup, and loads of custard. A beautifully sweet nose.

Palate

Brown sugar, baking chocolate, flat cola, cinnamon, maple syrup, dried oranges, and baking spice. The palate is sweet, viscous, complex, and rich!

Finish

The baking chocolate and brown sugar from the palate carries through to the long finish. Additional notes of espresso, butterscotch, coconut, and an overall sweetness that linger.

In closing

NULU Whiskey Consensus Exclusive Batch WC1 boasts a beautiful nose, viscous palate, and an impressively long finish. Essentially, it’s a Coconut Butterscotch Chocolate Chip Cookie/Magic 5 Cookie in a bottle! NULU Whiskey Consensus Exclusive Batch WC1 is an exceptional bourbon and proof of just how great a whiskey can be after just 5 years in the barrel.
