Color

Light Gold

Nose

A crisp and creamy nose with sweet notes of fruit and vanilla. Think strawberries and cream!

Palate

Sweet, creamy, and fruit-forward. The palate has a wonderfully thick body that coats the mouth with that same strawberry and cream flavor from the nose.

Finish

The finish is relatively short-lived, but boy-o-boy is it good while it lasts. Slight warming from the alcohol that’s quite pleasant as it lingers around with fruity notes of port wine. leather, and stewed strawberries.

In closing

It’s very exciting to see new Brands like Penelope enter the market and push the limits with releases like a Rosé Cask Finish bourbon. Not only is this incredibly unique, but it’s also innovative and proof that these gentlemen are putting their mark on the American whiskey industry. Had I not know this bourbon was only aged around 2-3 years, I would have almost certainly thought it was much older. There is next to no youth showing through on this whiskey and it’s chalked full of body, flavor, and complexity. The strawberries and cream on the nose and palate were both unique and delicious. At $65 bucks, I’ll be buying this whiskey all day long!
