A little background

Jack Daniel’s Distillery introduces the latest in their Single Barrel Special Release series, the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8. This complex Tennessee Whiskey comes from barrels matured at the highest elevations of the distillery, and it’s bottled at an impressive barrel strength with proofs ranging from 122 to 137.5. Using Jack Daniel’s traditional Tennessee Whiskey mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, the whiskey undergoes the signature charcoal mellowing process before entering new, charred American white oak barrels in September 2013. Aged on the fifth and sixth floors of Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8, this whiskey is a product of Jack Daniel’s craftsmanship and unique barrelhouse environment.

The 2024 Special Release follows in the footsteps of the 2021 Coy Hill High Proof and the 2022 Small Batch Coy Hill High Proof, continuing the legacy of high-proof releases. Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8 has a retail price of $80 USD. The sample used for this review came in at 134.7 proof.
