Jack Daniel’s Launches Limited Edition High Angel’s Share Straight Tennessee Whiskey

Jack Daniel’s Distillery Series Selection #17 is batch proof Tennessee Whiskey pulled from top floors of the distillery’s Coy Hill barrelhouses

Lynchburg, Tennessee (August 4, 2026) – The Jack Daniel Distillery introduces Distillery Series #17, a batch proof High Angel’s Share Tennessee Whiskey, as the latest innovation in its line of experimental whiskeys. The new expression begins with traditional Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey laid down in 2016. The whiskey rested atop Coy Hill on the top floor of Barrelhouse 1-13 for a high angel’s share maturation. As the barrels rested in the highest reaches of the barrelhouse, an increased amount of whiskey was lost, presenting a unique and deeply rich concentration of flavors within the remaining spirit.

“This release is a perfect example of what happens when we let nature take the lead,” said Chris Fletcher, Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller. “By resting these barrels on the very top floor of our Coy Hill barrelhouse, the intense heat increased the angel’s share over the years. What’s left behind in the wood is a beautifully concentrated profile that showcases a whole different side of our traditional Tennessee Whiskey.”

Distillery Series #17 coats the palate in brown sugar, banana nut bread, and a hint of maple syrup, leading into a long finish delivering just the right touch of oak and a comforting embrace of rich, warm flavor.

Selected by Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Taster Dale McGee, Jack Daniel’s Distillery Series High Angel’s Share Straight Tennessee Whiskey is bottled at a batch proof of 138.4 in 375ml bottles. It will be available exclusively in Tennessee and at the White Rabbit Bottle Shop at the Jack Daniel Distillery beginning this month, with a suggested retail price of $44.75.
