In closing

At 152.2 Proof, just trying this bottle of Dry Fly Single Barrel straight whiskey is a fun experience. Shockingly, the alcohol is pretty well integrated on both the nose and palate. The alcohol content is obviously present, but not what you might expect.

The palate and finish were big and rich with great baking spice and cinnamon notes, leading into a slight pumpkin note. There is a slight off-putting note on the finish that I’m not quite able to put my finger on. I’m not sure I’d call it a flaw, it’s just “different”. Overall, this is a very interesting whiskey and great opportunity to experience a 100% straight wheat whiskey at 152.2 proof. Just be cautious with any open flames!
