A little background

The GlenDronach is nestled in the valley of Forgue, deep in the East Highland hills and is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, creating sherried single malts for nearly 200 years. The GlenDronach Revival 15 Year has a retail price of around $90, is a small batch blend, is matured in es PX sherry and ex oloroso casks, and has a mashbill of 100% malted barley.

(Tasted neat from a Glencairn Glass)

Color

Copper

Nose

On the nose, I am picking up notes of plum, apriot, honey, cherry, dark chocolate, rich sherry, and a variety of other fruits.

Palate

The honey, dark chocolate, sherry, and plum carry over from the nose with dark fruits, vanilla, and citrus also present.

Finish

The sherry really shine on the finish and is accented with a multitude of spices.

In closing

Simply put, The GlenDronach Revival Aged 15 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky
is an excellent whisky that I would love to have on my bar. This is a wonderful single Malt scotch whisky that will be enjoyed by both the novice and connoisseur. At $90 it’s priced extremely fair, especially given the fact that’s got an age statement of 15 years.
