Our Verdict
Very Good

Rye Fidelity from Broad Branch is a special edition bottle, which is comprised of sourced barrels from Last Chance in Washington State.

The Good

  • Complex Nose
  • Creamy Palate

The Bad

  • Price
  • Availability
I enjoyed the Rye Fidelity Anniversary Edition for the complexity and unique flavors from start to finish. The nose by far is the most complex; with new aromas appearing or becoming more prominent it is truly enticing. The palate is creamy but becomes rich with that toffee note as the whisky coats your entire palate. The finish has just the right amount of heat and rye spice to make this an absolute treat next to a fire. The aromas of green apple come back to round out a truly great experience and make you immediately want another sip. I believe that is this bottle is higher priced than what I typically deem as fair; 10 dollars per year of age. However the Rye Fidelity Anniversary Edition is definitely worth the price of admission. For a 7 year product it is as complex as it is tasty. I would recommend this bottle to the more experienced whiskey enthusiasts based off the subtle complexities and nonstandard flavor profile.

Color

Dark Amber

Nose

Cool rye spice with a hint of vanilla and green apple. Oak with light and airy brown sugar coming through.

Palate

Creamy medium viscosity with cool Mint with subtle toffee on the front palate which transitions to rich and creamy with a touch of oak to balance the sweetness. On the back palate a crisp green apple comes through leading into the finish.

Finish

Rye spice and burnt sugar come through quite nicely with a heat that settles in the chest and back of the throat. Rye tingles on the tongue with a long lasting finish. Aromas of green apple and some char come back in between sips.
