In closing

Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series #6 is a blend of 3 whiskies that typically have very different flavor profiles. The result is a terrific and complex whiskey that is a great representation of what Bardstown strives for in their discovery releases. The nose is as incredible as it is complex. Lovely notes of vanilla and brown sugar give way to subtle char hints of butterscotch, light citrus, and honey that really captivate and entice the drinker. There isn’t a hint of ethanol on the nose which makes it even more impressive at the 111 proof point. The palate is sweet and creamy which coats the palate well. Vanilla forward that gets cut midway by notes of oak, floral, and toffee. The palate falls a bit short on expectation from the nose as the floral note overshadows the vanilla and toffee. The floral continues on to the finish and really bursts with flavor melding well with light citrus, rye spice, oak and clove. The finish is packed full of flavor and has no ethanol with aromas of brown sugar and char lasting in between sips.

All in all Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series #6 really is complex as it melds 3 different flavor profiles into a great sipping whiskey. I definitely enjoyed this pour and would recommend picking up this bottle at the retail price of $134.
