SirDavis American Whisky

A little background

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has partnered with Moët Hennessy to introduce SirDavis American Whisky, a bold new spirit that blends American tradition with global refinement. Named in tribute to Knowles-Carter’s great-grandfather Davis Hogue, a farmer and moonshiner in the Prohibition-era South, SirDavis embodies both heritage and innovation. This unique whiskey, crafted by Moët Hennessy’s five-time International Whisky Competition Master Distiller of the Year, Dr. Bill Lumsden, features a pioneering mash bill of 51% rye and 49% barley. SirDavis American Whisky is finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, bottled at 88 proof, and carries a retail price of $90 USD.

In closing

In conclusion, SirDavis American Whisky impresses with its approachable, sweet, and herbally nuanced profile. The orange-forward nose and smooth, fruit-laden flavors make it a pleasant sipper, offering a gentle evolution from nose to finish. While the medium-long finish holds a nice balance of sweetness, nuttiness, and a hint of dryness, it leaves you wondering what a higher proof might bring to the experience. At its current proof, SirDavis delivers a satisfying, if somewhat restrained, pour that’s elevated by its unique heritage and craftsmanship. For a celebrity whisky, it stands among the best—a solid introduction with the potential to become exceptional.
