A little background

Drawing inspiration from his numerous visits to Tokyo and the memories, feelings, and flavors they evoke, Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation, embarked on a multi-year journey to acquire rare Mizunara oak casks. His aim was to blend the distinctive, bold flavors of this oak with Glenmorangie’s delicate, floral character. The result is a delightful limited-edition whisky that embodies enchanting contrasts, crafted from a blend of whisky part-matured in Mizunara, Bourbon, and Sherry casks. Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo combines bright, bold flavors with a soft sweetness, creating a Highland single malt Scotch whisky as rich in sensory contrasts as Tokyo itself.

Driven by a desire to capture the sensory experiences of Tokyo and experiment with rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks, Dr. Bill Lumsden created a unique limited-edition whisky. He expertly combined Glenmorangie part-aged in Mizunara oak with whisky matured in sherry and bourbon casks, achieving a perfect balance with Glenmorangie’s signature style.

Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo mis bottled at 92 Proof and has a retail price of around $110 USD.
