Old Dominick Huling Station WC3

A little background

Huling station from Old Dominick was created as a homage to the 1886 whiskeys of Memphis, Tennessee. Although this bourbon is sourced from MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, it’s made from a custom High Rye mash bill of 52% Corn, 44% Rye, and 4% Malted Barley. This 5yr single barrel release was bottled at 106.94 proof (uncut and unfiltered) and has a retail price of $47.99 USD.

(Tasted neat from a Glencairn Glass)

Color

Amber

Nose

Raw honey, vanilla, yeast roll, and maple syrup.

Palate

Notes of raisins, dates, baking spice, cream cheese frosting and vanilla. An overall wonderful body and flavor profile!

Finish

Espresso, maple syrup, dates, cocoa, sweet tea, caramel, and vanilla. An exceptional finish that’s long and complex.

In closing

Old Dominick Huling Station WC3 Single Barrel Bourbon is nothing short of exceptional. The 44% high rye mash bill is very unique and seems to help put extra complexity on this bourbon despite it’s 5-year age statement. There is an overall sweetness that will keep you coming back for more and more. This is arguable one of the best 5-year MGP distilled bourbons we’ve ever tried.
