A little background
Driftless Glen is a distillery set in the hillsides of Wisconsin, next to the Baraboo River in the Driftless Region. Their small batch bourbon is a 96 proof bourbon with no age statement, but is aged at least two years. It is double distilled in a column still, and then aged in new American oak barrels. The ingredients used to make this bourbon are all local to Wisconsin. One can buy Driftless Glen Small Batch Bourbon at $35 MSRP.

Color
Orange caramel
Nose
The nose is pleasant and dark with notes of cherries, honey, caramel, and honey. A little bit of corn becomes present while swirling the glass. As the glass is brought closer to the nose, a very pleasant note of fresh grape jam mixed with Winter spices appears.
Palate
Light grapes and baking spice are present at the mid-palate, which makes for a very unique and pleasant experience. This baking spice note and the sweetness of the grape remain present throughout the remainder of the sip. A very nice pine needle note then enters the front of the palate. The back of the palate receives a sweetness that resembles underbaked bread.
Finish
The finish is both sweet from the grapes that were present on the palate as well as spicy. It is not a very long finish, but the sweetness and uniqueness of the flavors makes up for the lack of length.
