Bardstown Bourbon Company Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey

A little background

Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey is a Kentucky-exclusive release from Bardstown Bourbon Company, bottled at 106 proof (53% ABV) with a suggested retail price of $139.99 for a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of three Indiana-distilled whiskeys: 40% 11-year-old bourbon and 40% 10-year-old bourbon, both from a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, plus 20% 11-year-old rye from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. The whiskey was married and matured for 27 months in Caribbean-sourced pineapple rum casks, after which fresh pineapple was added to the barrels to mirror the production method of the rum that previously occupied them, with stave finishing used to integrate the character. The release is named for the Victoria pineapple, a variety tied to premium rum production in Barbados. Blended by Master Blender Dan Callaway of Lofted Spirits, it is the first bottling in the brand’s Finishing Series and was produced in fewer than 350 nine-liter cases, released July 24, 2026, at Kentucky retailers, the Bardstown Bourbon Co. distillery and the Louisville Tasting Room. Label artwork for this release was created by Louisville artist Margaret Archambault.

Bardstown Bourbon Company is a distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, and a stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The company operates one of the most technically advanced whiskey distilleries in the United States and is known for pairing large-scale distillation and blending with a transparency-focused, collaborative approach to production. Its accolades include Icons of Whisky Global Brand Innovator of the Year in 2025, the highest-rated American whiskey by Whisky Advocate in 2024, and Worldwide Whisky Producer of the Year from the IWSC in 2023. Alongside its own labels, the distillery is recognized for its collaboration and finishing releases, of which the Finishing Series is the current evolution.

In closing

At the end of the day, the Bardstown Bourbon Company Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey is exactly what it promises to be — and that’s both its greatest strength and its most important caveat. This is a dessert pour through and through. The sweetness is genuine, the pineapple character is bold, and the overall experience lands somewhere between a tropical Old Fashioned and a rum-kissed after-dinner indulgence. It’s the kind of whiskey you need to be in the right mood for — not a sipper you’ll reach for every night, but an absolute treat when the occasion calls for it. A rocks glass with a big cube after dinner is exactly where this one belongs. The glazed pineapple, molasses, toffee, and crème brûlée notes are undeniably delicious, and the rye spice and toasted oak keep it from tipping fully into candy territory. Bardstown did a genuinely impressive job here — the integration is better than you’d expect from a concept this adventurous, and the finishing technique feels considered rather than gimmicky. At $139.99, the Bardstown Bourbon Company Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey is a premium ask for a polarizing profile, and not every whiskey drinker will love it. But for those who appreciate a flavorful, boundary-pushing release that does something truly different with barrel finishing, this one is well worth the experience. It’s fun, it’s unique, and it earns its place as the first chapter in what should be a fascinating new series from Bardstown Bourbon Company.
