A little background
Kooper Family Whiskey is located in Ledbetter, Texas. Founded in 2012, the blending house concept started out as a hobby for husband and wife duo Troy and Michelle Kooper. That hobby quickly turned into a 100% family-owned and operated whiskey blending business. Sourcing whiskey and carefully blending small batches together is how Kooper Family Whiskey gets its unique flavor profile. Kooper Family Single Barrel Bourbon is a 4-5 Year Old Single Barrel Bournon that was distilled in Indiana and aged in Texas. This bourbon has a mash bill consisting of 75% Corn, 21% Rye, and 4% Malt. Kooper Family Single Barrel Bourbon is bottled at 92 Proof and is available in Texas for $45 USD.

In closing
Kooper Family Single Barrel Bourbon starts off with a beautiful nose that will instantly draw you in. The palate is thick and chalked full of delicious sweet flavors. There was a wonderful sweet tea, maple syrup, and orange citrus note throughout that I found to be particularly enjoyable. Although not cask strength, I do feel that this bourbon was bottled at just the right proof. Like all other releases we’ve tried from Kooper Family, this single barrel bourbon is quite enjoyable and priced at a very reasonable price. Be sure to buy two bottles, as I can guarantee you that you’ll want a backup!
