Light Honey

Nose

The nose is sweet but not overly baring sweet. Notes of brown sugar and caramel are the first to come through. There is a slight woody/oaky note that comes through as the bourbon opens up in the glass.

Palate

I was surprised when the palate did not match the sweetness of the nose. The overall notes from the nose were found such as the brown sugar and caramel but they were not as sweet as they appeared on the nose. The second sip brought out more woody pepper note.

Finish

The overall finish was short but packed with the woody flavor.

In closing

This whiskey left something to be desired for me. The finish was short and didn’t add anything to the palate like I had hoped. With an MSRP of $30 it is not a bad choice, although it probably wouldn’t be my first choice. I can appreciate the caramel and vanilla flavors but overall, I wanted something more. I think if you find 90 proof whiskey to be enjoyable then you should still give it a shot. Afterall, everyone’s palate is different!
