Westward Whiskey Milestone

A little background

Westward Whiskey Milestone represents the the pinnacle of American whiskey craftsmanship Born from the daring spirit of the maker’s American Northwest home, this limited and exclusive release embodies two decades of boundary-pushing innovation. Their distillers, fueled by a relentless pursuit of excellence, have carefully crafted Milestone® using a twenty-one barrel Solera system, integrating their most precious whiskies. According to Westward Whiskey, it is more than a drink; it’s a masterpiece that harmonizes the legacy of our past with the promise of our future.

Westward Whiskey Milestone is bottled at 86 proof and carries a $250 USD price tag.

(Tasted neat from a Glencairn Glass)

Color

Nose

Cheesecake, beeswax, honey, Trolli peach rings, fresh apricots, chopped almonds, clove, and malted barley.

Lemon, almond, peaches, milk chocolate, dusty cocoa, cantaloupe, menthol, clove, honey, cinnamon, and raisins.

In closing

This wasn’t my first experience with Westward Whiskey and what I knew from the other spirits I’ve tasted, I was in for a treat. Westward Whiskey Milestone is presented in a beautiful box, exactly what you’d expect from a premium single malt.

Milestone boasts a nose that will have you sniffing your whiskey forever and begging you to take a sip. The palate of this whiskey is juicy, sweet, and expertly balanced followed by an enjoyable long finish. Throughout the tasting experience, notes of stone fruit, brown sugar, baking spice, walnuts, and baking spice will be enjoyed.

The price tag on Westward Whiskey Milestone is certainly high. However, I do feel that it can stand up to many single malt drams at a similar (or higher) price point. This whiskey represents what the American Single Malt category can be and wow, it’s exciting. Westward Whiskey Milestone is a truly exceptional whiskey and one I certainly suggest trying!
