A little background
Still Austin Tanager Cigar Blend Bourbon is a whiskey produced from a mash bill of red, white, and blue corn bourbons, with rye and malted barley as secondary grains. Aged for a minimum of 5 years, this bourbon was selected by Master Blender Nancy Fraley and Head Distiller John Schrepel. To enhance the final product, a portion of the whiskey was aged for at least one year at 50 proof in a process known as Petites Eaux, a technique commonly used in Cognac and Armagnac production. This method, similar to barrel rinsing, adds complexity and contributes to the final flavor profile. Tanager Cigar Blend Bourbon is bottled at 106 proof with an MSRP of $150 USD.
