A little background
The George Remus Distilling Co. is owned by Midwest Grain Products out of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. George Remus is an historical icon that created one of the most intricate, successful bootlegging operations of Prohibition. With the repeal of prohibition by the passage of the 21st Amendment this Repeal Series is a commemoration to a monumental moment in America’s history.

Nose
Cinnamon and cool rye spice with tons of brown sugar with dark berry.
Palate
Creamy and viscous with dark berry rushing to all corners of the palate. Subtle rye and vanilla come through heavy on the mid to back palate.
Finish
Sweet cream and berry hit together on the finish with just a hint of rye spice and char. The heat is subtle and builds to just a nice warmth in the chest. Aromas of spice and berry linger for quite some time.
In closing
The nose upon first glance is subtle till you start to sip the whiskey then it comes alive. The berry note is heavy on the nose and lasts throughout the entire experience. The palate is creamy and really floods the taste buds quickly with intense flavor from the berry and vanilla. The palate truly is a flavor bomb and gets the palate salivating for the next sip. The finish is lingering and still packed full of flavor. The spice and char meld well with the lasting berry note and that warmth just seals the deal on this bottle being a homerun. At 100 proof, Remus Repeal Reserve Batch V is an easy sipping whiskey without any thinness to the palate or lack in flavor. The price of 79.99 is perfect and I would highly recommend buying a backup because this is not a bottle that will not last long on any whiskey enthusiasts shelf.
