A little background
Penelope Bourbon Havana Bourbon is a new addition to their Cooper Series. This expression features a double cask finish: their four-year-old Four Grain Straight Bourbon (74% corn, 7% rye, 16% wheat, 3% malted barley) aged 12 months in Caribbean rum casks, followed by a one-month finish in maple syrup barrels previously used to age Penelope bourbon. Bottled at 93 proof (46.5% ABV), the Penelope Cooper Series Havana Bourbon is available in a limited release of 4,500 cases at a suggested retail price of $79.99.
