A little background

Michter’s 10 Year Rye Single Barrel is a yearly release from Michter’s Distillery. This single barrel rye is amongst the public’s favorites every year, and is a highly sought-after release. The current releases, though, are actually not distilled by Michter’s themselves. They have been contracted out to non-disclosed distilleries to be produced, and then bottled by Michter’s. The mashbill is unfortunately private, but at least we know that it is at least 51% rye! This release sits at a cool 92.8 proof, and is sold at a very high MSRP of $135.

(Tasted neat from a Glencairn Glass)

In closing

The 2022 release of Michter’s 10 Year Rye certainly checks all the boxes. It’s complex, rich, and packs in tons of wonderful flavors. The long finish and tropical flavors are especially notable on this year’s release. This is one of the most anticipated annual releases from Michter’s and that’s for good reason. Michter’s 10 Year Rye Single Barrel absolutely lives up to the hype!
