A little background

The 2025 Michter’s 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Single Barrel continues the legacy of one of America’s most historic whiskey brands. Michter’s roots trace back to 1753, and after its revival in the 1990s, the distillery cemented itself as a leader in premium bourbon, with its Fort Nelson Distillery opening in downtown Louisville in 2019. This limited-release single barrel bourbon is distilled and aged in Kentucky, matured for a full decade in carefully selected new charred American oak barrels. Bottled at 94.4 proof and priced around $195, the 2025 Michter’s 10 Year Bourbon remains one of the most sought-after annual releases in the bourbon world.

In closing

2025 Michter’s 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Single Barrel proves itself as a refined, dessert-leaning expression that leans into elegance over intensity. Its inviting nose draws you in with rich sweetness and fruit, the palate follows with smooth layers of toffee, vanilla, and spice, and the finish lingers warmly with oak, chocolate, and just a hint of smoke. While it may not push boundaries in complexity, it excels in balance and drinkability, offering a polished and rewarding pour that showcases why Michter’s age-stated releases continue to captivate bourbon enthusiasts year after year.
