Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon

A little background

Lux Row Distillers has brought whiskey enthusiasts an exciting new offering with the introduction of Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon. This limited release combines the best of both worlds, merging Lux Row’s ryed- and wheated-bourbon mashbills into a remarkable product. The result is a balanced, flavorful bourbon with a unique blend of caramel, citrus, and spice. With only 7,500 cases available, this bourbon is highly anticipated and set to hit retail shelves in August 2023 at an attractive price of $79.99 for a 750 ml bottle. Whiskey lovers can expect a 115-proof, well-crafted bourbon with a touch of magic, thanks to Lux Row’s innovative approach to blending these two mashbills.

Eric Winter, whiskey brand manager at Luxco, explains that Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon was inspired by the incredible success of Lux Row 12 Year Bourbon. This new release allows Lux Row to share their craft with a wider audience, and it’s sure to become a favorite among both ryed- and wheated-bourbon connoisseurs. The bottle itself is a testament to the quality within, featuring a distinct metal-plate Lux Row logo and custom metal-plate collar, and the bottom label proudly displays each bottle’s barrel number and fill date for the two single barrels used. The side and neck labels emphasize the unique four-grain aspect of the bourbon’s mashbill.

In closing

Overall,

Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon is an enjoyable Bourbon that presents some great qualities. The nose is inviting, with sweet fruit and citrus notes, along with a touch of caramel and bread yeast. Although thin, the palate is pleasant with notes of cola, baking spice, and cocoa. With dry oak present throughout, the finish is quite drying despite some great marshmallow and caramel notes. Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon is definitely worth a try and one that some might think is more exciting than others.
