A little background

Green River Distilling Co., one of Kentucky’s oldest distilleries, continues its expansion under the ownership of Bardstown Bourbon Company with the release of Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Single Barrel Bourbon. Since acquiring Green River in 2022, Bardstown Bourbon Co. has rapidly grown the brand’s distribution from just four states to 45 by 2025, positioning it as a rising force in the super-premium American whiskey category.

This latest release, bottled at barrel strength (110–130 proof) and aged a minimum of five years, marks an extension of Green River’s high-quality offerings. Limited to just 100 barrels, this wheated single barrel bourbon will be available exclusively for retailer selection, with a small number of bottles released to the public on February 13, 2025, at Green River’s gift shop and Bardstown Bourbon Co. retail locations. The suggested retail price is $60.

In closing

Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Single Barrel Bourbon offers a unique and thought-provoking tasting experience, balancing rich sweetness with layered spice and citrus complexity.
