A little background
Finished in the finest Tokaji dessert wine casks, Glenmorangie A Tale Of Cake was created to conjure whisky to the magical memories of cake. Some time ago, Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, found himself musing over how some of his most joyful memories involved cake – from baking with his granny, to the pineapple upside down cake his daughter made him for his birthday. In an effort to encapsulate the magic of cake in a single malt whisky, he experimented by finishing Glenmorangie in Tokaji dessert wine casks. Skilfully layering their sweet, honeyed notes with Glenmorangie’s smooth, fruity character, Dr. Bill created Glenmorangie A Tale of Cake. This single malt whisky is bottled at 92 proof and has a retail price of $99.

In closing
Wow! Glenmorangie A Tale Of Cake is a beautiful Single Malt Whisky from the nose all the way through to the long and complex finish. As the name suggests, the flavors of this whisky pair perfectly with dessert. There is a nutty and tart quality that’s accompanied by a wonderful explosion of sweetness, very much like a yellow cake with lemon zest icing. Glenmorangie A Tale Of Cake is a very well balanced whisky that I’d absolutely recommend giving a try!
