A little background

Barrell Craft Spirits (BCS), is an award winning independent blender of unique aged, cask-strength whiskey and rum. Barrell Bourbon Batch 035 is a multi-mash bill blend of six and seven-year-old spicy and earthy, high-rye, high-proof oak forward barrels.  The barrels in this blend are a combination of eight-year-old softer,lower-proof barrels with concentrated notes of dark cherry and butterscotch. After mingling for two months, 13-year-old barrels with dominant fruit flavors were layered in. A portion of these barrels had more tropical fruit notes and the other portion showed more dried and candied fruit notes, according to Barrell Craft Spirits. Barrell Bourbon Batch 035 is bottled at Cask Strength (117.5 Proof) and has a retail price of $90 USD.

In closing

Barrell Bourbon Batch 035 is a above average bottle of Bourbon that truly shows the remarkable blending capabilities of the Barrell Craft Spirits team. The barrels that were chosen to go into this blend complement each other quite well, creating a balanced bourbon with a unique tropical flavor profile.

At around $90, I find Barrell Bourbon Batch 035 to be priced exceptionally well, as there is plenty of spirits in this bottle that far exceeds the 6-year age statement found on the front label. Two thumbs up BCS team, you continue to amaze me.
