In closing
I thoroughly enjoyed Brush Creek Railroad Rye Whiskey from start to finish. The nose is complex and entices the drinker with every breath by starting out with sweet fruit, rye spice, cool mint, and subtle vanilla. After your first taste of the whiskey the sweet fruit turns more to a spiced grape juice as the rye begins to mingle. The palate is creamy and oily with sweet caramel coming up front with a beautiful rye spice hiding in the background that cuts the sweetness turning it to spiced grape juice mid palate. The finish is long and filled full of rye spice, mint, and char. As the hug begins to settle rye spice begins to tingle on the tongue like pop rocks while a berry aroma begins to come back in between sips.
I was both thoroughly impressed and surprised by this new and unbeknownst to me whiskey and distillery. I would highly recommend this bottle as I too am now hunting a bottle.
