Yellowstone Limited Edition 2019

A little background

Yellowstone Limited Edition was released by Limestone Branch Distilling Co. in the Fall of 2019, is 101 proof, carries a 9 year age statement, and uses a small batch approach to blend 9 and 12 year old bourbons. Limestone Branch Distilling Co. is located in Lebanon, Kentucky and has been doing these limited releases for multiple years now. The mashbill for this bourbon is undisclosed, and it come in at a suggested MSRP of around $100.

(Tasted neat from a Glencairn Glass)

Color

Golden Honey

Nose

The nose is very pleasant with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, toffee, sweet oak and dark cherry. The vanilla and cherry really shine.

Palate

The palate follows the nose and gives off a big note of vanilla followed by notes of toffee, dark cherry, oak, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The bourbon has a medium viscosity.

Finish

The whiskey hits the middle palate, goes to the back palate, and then has a medium length finish. The notes of vanilla and dark cherry carry through, but more prominent notes of cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg linger.

In closing

This was a very enjoyable bourbon and another solid release by Limestone Branch Distillery in their limited edition lineup. At $100, I think there are probably better values out there, but this is definitely a bottle that I would enjoy having on my bar if the budget permitted!
