A little background

Treaty Oak Distilling is named after a 28-acre ranch home located in Dripping Springs, Texas. Ghost Hill bourbon is composed of local heirloom grains sourced from Barton Springs Mill. This spirit is a genuine grain to glass bourbon. Treaty Oak mashes, ferments, distills, barrels, and ages this spirit for two years at their distillery. The mash bill consists of 57% Corn, 32% Wheat, and 11% barley. After aging, the spirit is bottled at 95 proof. MSRP is set at approximately $40.

Nose

Ethanol, young oak, and hints of vanilla are initially present on the nose. After some time in the glass, sweet corn and spice notes begin to appear.

Palate

The first sip is thin and is accompanied by young oak and spice notes. The second sip is like the first with the addition of corn and vanilla notes. The third sip begins with hints of barrel char that transitions into oak and spice notes.

Finish

The finish is medium, spicy, and concentrates in the front to mid-palate. Young oak, corn, and spice are the most prominent notes.

The Treaty Oak Ghost Hill Bourbon Whiskey is a locally sourced and distilled spirit. The nose is a warm combination of oak, corn, spice, and vanilla notes. This spirit has a somewhat thin mouth feel. Tasting notes include young oak, spice, and vanilla. The finish is medium and concentrates in the front to mid-palate. This spirit is 100% Texan. If you enjoy the unique character and flavor profiles associated with Texas Whiskey, then you should try some of the Ghost Hill Bourbon Whiskey. If Texas whiskey is not your thing, you may want to choose something else.
