Color

Dark Amber

Nose

The nose is rich with dark fruits, butterscotch, tobacco, brown sugar, and vanilla. The high proof is evident; however, the sweetness of the nose balances the heat.

Palate

The first sip has a medium to thick viscosity. The high proof is evident on the tip of the tongue but is not overwhelming. Butterscotch and vanilla are prominent. The second sip coats the entire mouth. Initially, there is a dryness similar to gin. However, this is followed by a Pavlovian response. Oak, vanilla, and cinnamon are present. The third sip is interesting and revealed tree nuts, light smoke, vanilla, and oak spice.

Finish

The finish is long and pleasant. Toasted oak, vanilla, and cinnamon are prominent. Faint ginger and black cherry notes are also noted.

In conclusion

Bourbon enthusiasts will enjoy the 2019 BP release of E.H. Taylor. The flavors are rich, complex, and bold. The high ABV is not off-putting due to the well-balanced flavors of this bourbon. Overall, this bourbon represents the high quality and standards that any bourbon enthusiast would enjoy. This bottle would be an excellent addition to any collection.
