Nose

The nose has lots of sweetness appearing as notes of butterscotch and caramel. There is also a light cinnamon spice with notes of banana and apple.

Palate

The whiskey have a thin mouthfeel and offers notes of apple, pear, banana, allspice, butterscotch, and caramel. The whiskey is very light and refreshing. It tastes young, but it is not off-putting as a lot of other offerings this age are.

Finish

The finish is short with notes of cinnamon, allspice, green apple, and a slight astringency.

In closing

Country Smooth American Whiskey is a product that offers plenty of sweetness on the nose and palate and has some complexity because of that. This is not necessarily something that I would grab for everyday, but I think it is a good value at $25 and may also go well in a cocktail. This may be the best 6 month whiskey I have tried to date. With that being said, I would love to see what this product would taste like with some more time in the barrel as I believe the flavors would become more balanced and developed.
