A little background

The 2025 release of Bomberger’s PFG™ (Precision Fine Grain) Kentucky Straight Bourbon represents a meticulous approach to whiskey-making, emphasizing precision at every stage of production. This bourbon undergoes a dual-barrel aging process, beginning in a new toasted and charred American oak barrel before being transferred to a proprietary French fine grain oak barrel crafted to exacting standards.

The finishing barrels incorporate wood sourced from renowned French forests and are air-dried for over 40 months to enhance their unique characteristics. Bottled at 100.2 proof (50.1% ABV) after a careful filtration process, Bomberger’s PFG™ is a testament to intentional craftsmanship and refined maturation techniques.

Bomberger’s PFG™ (Precision Fine Grain) Bourbon carries a retail price of $140 USD.

In closing

Bomberger’s PFG™ (Precision Fine Grain) bourbon delivers a well-balanced and richly layered experience from start to finish. The nose is sweet and inviting, with abundant oak complementing deep caramel and chocolate notes. On the palate, its velvety mouthfeel enhances a harmonious blend of dark caramel, brown sugar, and baking spices, with a distinct tootsie roll character weaving throughout. The finish lingers with rich cocoa, molasses, and warm spice, showcasing a refined oak presence without overwhelming the profile. With its thoughtfully chosen proof point, this release strikes an excellent balance between depth, sweetness, and spice.
